Recently a poster looking to buy a 700S with 55M miles on it said he was
hesitating because he'd never heard of an air-cooled bike with much life left
after 40M miles. We have several bikes on this list with upward of 75M miles
(mine's one of them.) that have full power and run just fine.? I recently ran
wheel to wheel with a nearly new ST1300 at upwards of 95 MPH for 70 miles of
Alligator Alley without even breathing hard.

It all depends on the care the bike's been given. Was oil and filter changed
regularly...say every 3M miles? Was the air filter changed or cleaned? Clutch
and chain kept adjusted?? Good battery? About aircraft, they say "it's just a
collection of parts flying in formation." Bikes are the same. Properly maintane
a well-built bike made of superior materials like just about any Honda and
mileage becomes secondary to care.

Anyone have a differing opinion?
