It's all very straight forward. You should have a fairly large CLEAN work area. 
Spread out a light colored cloth to work over.Disassemble VERY slowly and write 
/ sketch how it fits together and where all washers go. Clean all parts before 
assembly. Getting the armature into the brush holder assembly is a nice trick, 
don't get frustrated. It will help if you can use a large vise to hold it while 
you put it back together. If the commutator is badly worn, refinish or replace 
the armature.

i got my Nighthawk Starter rebuild kit today!  So i am going to start
