Whoa. Thanks man! Been away from the list for awhile, forgot the NASA
level of expertise on this board!

Funny, after posting this I checked out the parts diagram and the
Clymer...and realized that I had indeed already pulled the slow jets.
So basically, on the underside of each carb there's the Main Jet and
emulsion tube, the slow jet, the pilot screw, and the float valve
(Clymer calls these "needle valves", wasn't sure which was correct)
and that's it right? Nothing goes in that third tube next to the main
jet and slow jet?

My main jets are totally clear now, and I'm gonna get a high E guitar
string tomorrow to gently clean out the slow jets. I can see a pinhole
of light when I look through them, but I want to get this right while
I have the carbs apart all over my kitchen table. Speaking of, is
there any way to verify that the air passages are clear? e.g. when I
blow into the tube that holds the main jet and emulsion tube, air
comes out a tiny hole on top of the same carb. I was thinking of
plugging up the hole and then filling the tube with carb cleaner for a
half an hour or so, then blowing it clear.

OK, so for tomorrow I am going to get some simple green and dunk the
whole rack (sans any plastic or rubber) for a half an hour or so, the
re-dip my jet needles, vaccuum cylinders etc. in carb cleaner. I've
been using berryman's which seems to work OK. Think I might also
invest in a jewelers loupe if I can find one.

Will post updates with new pictures for those that are interested.
