what about some of the Honda "V" engined bikes, they are just as reliable as 
the Nighthawk and have the lower seating your looking for.

I do not have any experience with them, so you may have to research
the reliability aspect, but check out the Buell Blast.  I have sat on
a few and if I remember right they are shorter.  I believe they also
offer two different seat heights.  Kind of similar in styling and
riding position to the NIghthawk.  I want to say it is a 500, but it
may be a little under that.  Not too many bikes out there anymore that
have the nice neutral riding position of the Nighthawk.  Everything
seems to have you leaning way back or way forward.  Good luck!
