That's a good idea, Dick. The display does act like it has a poor or intermittent ground, and that is one thing I had thought of. I did not realize the switch case itself was the ground for that circuit, but it makes sense now that I have looked at the schematic more closely. I'll try removing and cleaning it again. It was severely oil fouled the first time I took it out.
