a friend of mine had an antique firetruck.  the local cop who was jealous as
hell and wanted to be part of our group of men complained that he shouldn't be
driving around with it because the antique plates were for "special occasions
only" to which my fiend replied everytime I drive it is a SPECIAL OCCASION and
that was the end of that.

I enquired about it here in PA.  I forget the age but I decided against it
because with antique or classic plates you can only drive the vehicle once a
week.

To satisfy my own curiosity, I went to the BMV to inquire about how old a motor
vehicle has to be before it is an antique.

They did not have a list for every state. I did find out that in the state of
Florida, it is 30 years. It used to be 25 but they changed it to 30 recently. A
little upsetting but i'll get over it.

I was looking foward to putting antique plates on my 85 next year. I guess I
will have to wait until 2015. Oh well!!!!!

It varies from state to state. Does anyone in this group have antique plates on
there Hawk?
