I myself was riding my Hawk on it's original tire for about a month before I got it replaced. The tire was "on the bike" for 22 years. It only had 8711 miles on it though. I was sliding all over the place whenever I hit my rear brake. Very scary feeling. No tire wear or dry cracks like some aged tires have, But it was very dry and gave NO traction. I even took my driving test on it and the tire got loose on me a couple of times. Tires are one of the most important parts of a motor vehicle. I have not had a bit of problems since I replaced it though.
