Somebody posted some excellent advice (sorry if I don't remember who
and give credit)
If you can't hear it run, you don't want it. They had some top end
oiling problems and parts are scarce. If it runs and doesn't make any noises,
great. I'd rather miss out on a great deal than buy a boat anchor. The short
story is that they are VERY expensive to repair.
I wouldn't pass up a good one, they are nice riders. Prove that it's
good though. Jump it with a battery and some fresh gas. It's worth the effort
for a good buy.

Hey gang!
My friend needs a bike and he's thinkin' about buying a Honda Magna
700 '83. The guy only wants $500 for it. Says it ran last year needs a battery
and carbs cleaned. I figure a $40 batt, a can of Seafoam and I'm good to go.
Right? He's got it on the local Craigs here. Could this be too good to be true?
My other question is when you add seafoam, how long should it take to work?
Will the engine start immediately, should it sit in the engine awhile or what?
We're talking once it goes into a bike that's not running and provided
everything else is ok?
