If I don't ride my 83 650 Nighthawk for a few days, something happens with the shifter.... When you fully pull back the lever, it does not completely disengage. It will go into first OK to get going, but then it shifts very hard for a few minutes, then it goes back to where it is supposed to be (somewhere about mid range on the lever).
What causes this and what can be done about it?
