The conditions you are operating in are no problem for the Amsoil 10w40. I can have similar conditions here in CA and I only run Amsoil 10w40 or Mobil 1 4T Racing 10w40. Both test out superbly in lab analysis maintaining their viscosity in testing and have always had tons of additive left after a 2k plus mile change. I could easily stretch oil change intervals should I choose to.
