It was also a family show, sorta. Whenever I would sit down to watch, all the women in the family would too. Not because of the motorcycle theme, but because the plots were kinda soap opera-ish, and Michael Parks was "such a hunk!"
I gotta kick out of the opener, when Parks is stopped at a light and there's a car next to him with the stereotypical downtrodden, exasperated husband, his nagging wife and bratty kids all raisin' hell. Hubby checks out the Harley with its bedroll strapped to the handlebars, and says: "Takin' a trip?" Long pause, and Parks says (in his best James Dean imitation) "Yep." Hubby: "Man, I wish I was you." Parks: "Yeah?...another long pause..."Well, hang in there."
