slowly, slowly.. The fuel tank is above the carbs, no incline can stop flow. Remove the fuel hose AND the vacuum hose. Apply the syringe vacuum and see if fuel flows properly. OK ? NOW, when you re-installed the carb pack, any chance you have the throttle cable adjusted wrong and the throttle plates are open somewhat ? That will make a bike very hard to start. Did you remove them from the runner when you cleaned them ? Just hunting around in the dark for any possibility. I'm not there, you are. If this bike ran even so-so before, then it's something you did. Question is what ? I suspect at this point, that the throttle plates are not closing. But then, I'm not there. I don't want you to have to start all over but it might come to that. Let's not beat up the starter motor and battery too much or you'll have even more problems.

And even then I had to have the "choke" open so it would let more fuel in, come to think of it the hose that goes from the petcock to the carbs has a slight incline before it drops to go to the carbs. As it stands, you have more than one system in question. #1 fuel delivery (petcock) and #2 carbs. Check the operation of the petcock by removing the vacuum hose from the engine and inserting a small syringe in the hose and pull the plunger back. That opens the diaphragm and allows fuel to flow. Open a drain screw at a carb bowl and see if fuel runs out. Y-N ? Gotta' start somewhere. It'll fire and run sometimes but then it will die, I've adjusted the idle speed, choke, and air/fuel mix screws but I can't seen to get them right if that's the problem. Awhile back I accidentally unscrewed the petcock assembly and it all felt out, I wasnt sure how to put it back together so I just put it in. Would anyone be able to tell me how to put together my petcock the right way and give me suggestions on what to troubleshoot?
