Mine did that when the starter was going out. The electrical on these bikes is, 
well, a nightmare at times. It could be a wire grounding out or any number of 
things. Sometimes it's hard to diagnose until an electrical part actually 
fails. You can check it out but if the circuit happens to be operating at the 
time it will not show a failure. HotrodMamma.
