P.S...I need new snap rings and slider bushings. Anyone got a great site I can
order from?

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Changing fork seals...

Hey group...Bob and I are changing the fork seals on my Nightmare Nighthawk.
('83 650 officially, 83,84 and ,85 unofficially). We pulled off the dust boot
to get the snap ring off. It was like the treasures of the Atochia in there,
nothing but old rusty metal. We were able to get one rusty snap ring off and
the other came off in pieces. We went to salvage another snap ring off of my
parts bike and, alas, same problem. We finally got another one off though. My
question is: is there any reason why we can't pack that spot with grease when
we put the bike back together? It just seems logical considering the damage
that moisture has done over time. HotrodMamma.
