If you can't bring it into the living room or kitchen, you could rent a storage 
spot and work on it there.  I have done that before - only cost me $80.00/month 
back then, is $95.00 now.  Of course, I worked on other people's cars there, 
also, so I was earning money while working on my stuff as well.
