Yes, the view of the Pacific had to go and the typhoon proof. The
house came only with a two car garage so I built the second one and
added the attic with dormers as an after thought (before completing
the garage fortunately). Graham

We moved here 3 years ago from the Mariana Islands (New Zealand
before then) and when looking for a house close to my wife's parents
the criteria was easy. Single story (ranch), 3 bedrooms, two baths,
(for resale value) a view of the Pacific, typhoon proof, (our last
residence was pummeled by 200 mph typhoons every year), 8 car garage
with attached kitchen. Had to compromise on a couple of those things
living in PA.
