Absolutely. The air should be coming into the airbox, through the carb boots to the carbs - no short cuts

On my 650 I have to run it with choke all the time, and with or
without choke when I get past about 1/4 throttle it bogs and
hesitates. I've tried tuning it down and that didn't do anything, also
do these bikes run bad if they don't have the airbox boots on. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
