Hey Paul, et al. I been looking at Paul's site, doing some research and checking out the pics ( very nice gallery of Hawks, btw ), and I decided to ask those in the know ( you guys ) for some advice/recommendations.
First: I live in the SF Bay Area, CA . Second: The bike is my Wife's, we bought it about a year ago for $1250.00 and have since then put in a new clutch. It's got @ 50k mil on it and the paint looks very sun weathered. There's a little bit of rust here and there, mostly on the exhaust pipes. I've already ordered a Corbin seat for her ( Gunslinger and Lady, in black ) and am looking at getting her a windshield. My questions are the following: What make of windshield is "best" for the Hawks? Right now I'm looking at Rifle, maybe an 18" or 21" ( my wife is @ 6' tall ). I personally have never had a bike with a shield, so I'm not familiar with them, but she wants one so... I'm looking for a Center Stand ( sound familiar? ). Ideally I'd like to find one locally and pick it up, so if anyone out there knows of a used parts store in my area, or better yet- has one they'd be willing to part with, that'd be great. Lastly, the needle washer mod.: Is it applicable across ALL Hawks ( for that matter, across ALL CBs? I've got an '81 900C that is waiting to be "restored" and if I can mod. the carbs on that as well...heck, cool!) Guess that's all for now.
