Yeah... what Javier said. Bike looks really good! My pet project lately has been to develop a LED headlight array for my '85 650 that would go inside the existing fixture. By my estimates, I should be able to get an equivalent or brighter hi beam that draws a mere .9 amps (10-12 watts). It would require careful positioning of the LEDs inside the fixture to get light where I want it, and not where I don't.
If that works I will move on to not only the tail/brake light and blinkers, but the instrument cluster. From the diagram in my Clymer shop manual, it looks like the panel has (5) 3 watt bulbs in it and they burn whenever the key is on. That's 15 watts just to light the instruments. I could make little wads of 4 appropriately colored LEDs in series that plug in just like a 3 watt bulb. I need to get the panel open to see what I'm up against. If all the incandescent bulbs could be replaced with equivalent brightness LEDs, It would cut lighting power by 80% or 90%... I think. Stock, its around 90 watts on low beam, in gear, break light off. I will let y'all know how it goes. On Apr 1, 2:21 pm, Kim Paddock <[email protected]> wrote: > You've never seen my bikes.
