Great minds think alike. I bought it for the same reasons, knowing that it had the the rough ride reputation. But the fit is superb, as is the riding position for long-legged types.
The comfort issue is easy enuf to deal with. I may go with a sheepskin-wrapped gel pad if I can find such.
