Hey all. Today i again had some trouble with my bike intermittently running on 3 cylinders and knowing that its not the choke, og vacuum in the gas tank i had the bright idea that it might be the emission control system thingie (tube that goes from the valve cover down under and up into the air filter.
So driving home I pulled over and took off the tube coming from the valve cover. few things happened. 1. i noticed that a small amount of white smoke came from the tube (not the valve cover opening). and when I took the tube off the valve cover some white lumpy gunk spilled out. Any idea what could cause the system to smoke? and could it be the white oil gunk clogging the system that causes the bad running engine? If I were to remove all the tubing from the valve cover to the air filter, and just put a small breather filter on the valve cover, would this do any damage to the engine?
