Metal detector??? What kind of motorcycle do you ride...one that beeps??? A cheap easy way to tone down pipes is to but a few baffles...basically they neck down the pipe and hae a fiberglass wrap that helps quiet them down...they also have the added benefit of adding some much needed back pressure to enrichen the mixture (less restriction=more lean) and if a cop shines his light up the pipe because you are "too loud" (i.e. he is too old...) you have something that most eople would mistake for a muffler...
