don't like driving there either. Hopefully a northern suburb.

My 550 pipes are pretty much straight. I haven't figured out an inexpensive
way to tone them done.

Metal detector??? What kind of motorcycle do you ride...one that
  beeps???

A cheap easy way to tone down pipes is to but a few
baffles...basically they neck down the pipe and hae a fiberglass wrap
that helps quiet them down...they also have the added benefit of
adding some much needed back pressure to enrichen the mixture (less
restriction=more lean) and if a cop shines his light up the pipe
because you are "too loud" (i.e. he is too old...) you have something
that most eople would mistake for a muffler...

 Topic: Gas mileage
  Joey Kelley <[email protected]> May 01 05:42PM -0400 ^

  Hello All,
Just in from a 7 hour, 176 mile ride. (Several stops) never
hit a bit of Interstate and when I filled up 136 miles into the trip,
I was getting 59.13 MPG. Just an FYI for the recent discussion on MPG.
  1982 CB450SC, 13,000 original miles. (a few more now :-))

He said it is a 750, so it's a second generation Nighthawk ('91-'02)
  which have spin-on, canister-type filters.

Topic: bike turns over but that's it...
  "NghthwkLvr (NL)" <[email protected]> May 01 09:52AM -0700 ^

ok...i know it's been a long dragged out process...but it FINALLY
  started Wednesday
(scared the living crap out of my cat who was sitting on the porch!!!)

anyway, now I have another problem that I can't research right now
  cause of school and finals...
but I wanted to post here to see what y'all think...

It starts right up now, but instead of the RPM's decreasing when I
  turn off the choke
and just idling...the RPM's go UP! basically it's idling at about 5K
  rpm's...

like i said i haven't been able to just work on it or adjusting
  anything...just 10-15 minutes
here and there...so if anyone knows what I should do or what I should
  check, i would appreciate it

also, i saw some clear fuel line available at BikeBandit that I'm
interested in getting for my Nightwawk (84 CB650)
can someone tell me what diameter i would need...

  thanks again...

  NghthwkLvr
