Che Guevara?? I don't think so. Che died in '67. Long before the CX-500 was a twinkle in Honda's eye.
I remember the GL500 Silver Wing version was a toured up version of the CX-500 twin. It was a mini-me version of the Gold Wing. It came out in the early 80s and was a niche market bike for those who wanted a ready made touring bike, but didn't want something as big as a Gold Wing. I rode one back around 1982 and it was impressive. It was not a powerhouse, but it could hold it's own on the interstates just fine. As I recall, the last year or two they were the upgraded GL-650. Those were the best ones. My favorite of the CX variants was the CX-650 Turbo. It looked like it was going 140mph while it was parked.
