So after being tired of spending 7.50+ a quart with Castrol motorcycle semi-synthetic oil, I decided to go with Mobil 1 10W40 fully synthetic. This is the same as car oil, but I have read that there really isn't a difference. This is though the first time that I have put fully synthetic in my bike. I own a 1985 CB450SC and at first when I ran the bike with this oil in it, it ran great, but it looks like after time I have been getting a tablespoon a day's worth leaking from the oil filter case and recently it seems from the drain plug (though it might just be running down from the oil filter case). Something else to consider is that when trying to teach a freind of mine how to ride a motorctcle she got laid down. When that happened she started leaking. So I bought another oil filter case cover and bolt on ebay and put it on. I also put a new filter, o-ring, and o-ring gasket for the oil filter. And a new washer for the drain plug. This is when I put the Mobil 1 in instead of the castrol semi-synthetic. It did not start leaking until a few weeks ago and I changed the oil almost 3 months ago. She is due for an oil change anyway, but I'm not sure the oil is the problem is the oil or not...
