I got pulled over a few weeks ago because my tail running light wasn't on. Officer was very nice about it and we discovered that the key was the culprit. Pulled the switch apart a week ago and for whatever reason the copper lighting contact had divot in it. Filled it with a small blob of silver solder and filed to the right level and presto it works again. It also needed a good cleaning.
