+1 on the newer (91-03) NH. More of them were manufactured over a longer period of time, so parts are still readily available and it's fairly easy to find one in good condition. The inline 4 motor is legendary and fast and they are do-it-all bikes. So no matter what type riding you wind up doing, they'll get the job done.
Price range is similar and they are simpler to work on, compared to the older ones. One word of caution: Used bikes, even new ones for that matter, are money pits.
