Is there a smell of gas around the bike? I ask because I had the same
high speed problem for awhile. It turned out to be a torn diaphragm in
the petcock. This screwed up the gas-air mix when the engine was run
hard. Once the petcock was replaced, the problem disappeared, and
highway gas mileage jumped up 10 MPG.
