There are 2 available now. I just ordered one. Javier, don't know if you looked at the pics of these. They are custom fabbed (not Hondaline) and have a detachable sissy bar, like your description of what you want to do.
My thinking is similar to yours. I wanted just the luggage rack without the sissy bar, but I plan to fabricate a grab rail that would connect the two stubs that would be left from cutting off the sissy bar. Judging from the pics, the cutting won't be neccessary. Lost the link to the Ebay pics, now.
