I'm looking at buying at 1984 CB750SC Nighthawk S. My only concern is that the mileage (or, really, kilometerage, as I'm Canadian) seems a bit high. The owner says it has approx. 66000kms (41000 miles) on it.
I did a search through the group to see what kind of high milage people have gotten - it seems there are a few folks out there whom have clocked upwards of 75000 miles (120000kms). Is there anything special that needs to be done to get that kind of long life from a Nighthawk? Obviously, keeping up on basic maintenance is a neccessity, but does one need to go above and beyond, installing "performance" parts and rebuilding the engine at some point? I would appreciate advice on how to make the bike last. I've been running a 1984 CB450SC Nighthawk, and it's done everythjing I could ask of it - except have a bigger engine.
