The gear selector switch right above the left foot peg controls the neutral 
light as well as the gear indicator on the instrument panel. It's a simple 
rotary switch but after a while the contacts become corroded. It's simple 
enough 
to take apart and clean up as long you go slow and pay attention. The honda 
manual would really help you out here. The Clymer manual will at least help you 
remove the switch, but it will lie to you about which color wire goes where on 
that switch.
