I looked at the AMA website and I thought it said "discounted rates" on roadside assistance -- sounds like I'd still have to pay, possibly a lot. Anyone know if I'm reading this correct? Anyone have experience and know what the AMA-discounted tow costs?

Considering a long ride, possibly cross-country, and would like a policy that was free roadside assistance. Currently have GEICO (they were cheapest for new rider with clean driving record -- $300-something / year, ouch!). Anyone ever had to use the GEICO roadside assistance? Did it cost money for the tow?

This list is so frakin' useful -- thanks!

Peace,

I belong to American Motorcyclist Association (AMA).

It includes roadside assistance and a bunch of other thing including
discounts on insurance and products.

AMA tries to screen the roadside assistance companies to make sure
they know how to handle motorcycles. It's worth it to me.

Hello All,
Just wondering for those of you who have Roadside
Assistance on your bike, who do you get it from, how did you find the
service and what do you pay for it?
             Thanks all!
