I have an 86 CB450SC, and I'm replacing the fork seals. Clymer says there is a "back-up plate" that sits between the oil seal and the circlip, but the parts fiche doesn't. My bike did not have one either, but the oil seal that leaked had the impression of the circlip on it, so I think it probably needs the back up plate, but I'm not sure. Anyone have an idea on this one?
