Yeah, occasionally someone will post a request for help locating something, but it’s not often and usually said person has done their homework first and exhausted their local resources (bike shops, dealerships) as well as places online . And I’m sure most of us appreciate money being tight, but as you’ll learn (as I have with my ’83 550) you’re working on a motorcycle that’s had a long time since the assembly lines rolled ‘em out new. Basically, finding parts for anything from the early ‘90s back is a matter of time, patience, finding that right deal, and having the money to pay for it as it comes around. (and remember, hard to find tends to mean higher prices. You’ll have to prioritize what matters most and what’s just a luxury item) Use Google, eBay, Craigslist for your surrounding areas, etc. After you’ve looked in those places and you’re getting nowhere, then post a thread here. If we all posted e-mails looking for parts we need without looking around in “the usual places” first, this group would be flooded daily.
