No Jim, that hole is where the Corbin backrest goes. I have one of those on mine, I can take a picture later to show you. But I guess you can also look it up in www.corbin.com. I think last time I checked the backrest alone costs around $250, which I think is excessive. Instead you could get the Hondaline backrest which is more bigger, and also has an small rack for luggage.
