My younger brother was one of those morphers. Had a '53 Studebaker with a Caddy engine. I borrowed it one time, when I was home on leave from the Navy, couldn't resist a stop light drag -- and blew the tranny (!)
He and his car club buddies collected me, towed it to their club house (an old warehouse equipped with every tool known to man) and swarmed all over that car. They had it replaced in less than 2 hours with one that was already bench rebuilt and ready. Instead of the reproach I was expecting to get for tearing up his car, he thanked me. Said he had been planning to replace the transmission, but hadn't gotten around to it. I just happened to break it at a time when all the club members were present and accounted for, and up for a "rescue" mission. Just another day in the life. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
