Hello Everybody,

I have finally convinced my dad to let me have an old Honda that has
been sitting in his shed for years. He picked it up at a garage sale
years ago and did nothing with it. It is in rough shape but is
probably 80% intact. Motor is not seized and all the important parts
are there. Looks like I can get the rest on E-Bay. I just want to
learn to do some maintenence on motorcycles while not screwing up my
daily rider (83 Nighthawk CB650). My wife also keeps telling me I
need a hobby. My main problem right now is figuring out what year
this thing is. It's a Honda CL175, which as far as I can tell was
made from 68 to 73 (as a CL anyway. They made 175's for a long time
with different designators). Can't find a VIN# on it, but the serial
number on the front fork is CL175 1008857, the motor reads CL175E
1008695. Best I can tell that would make this a 68 or 69. However,
there are parts on the bike (air filters, headligh bucket, etc) that
don't seem to match the 68-69 models. So, I either have the year
wrong or there have been a few alterations over the years. I am
assuming the latter in this case, but I want to be sure before I dig
in. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

MN Blue
