Yes Dave, be careful with what some people say. Especially when it comes to "driving techniques". When I started riding I did the obvious and asked for tips to all people I knew have motorcycles. This friend is 35, he told he is being riding since he was 15, and told me something similar about front brakes. He also told me that you shouldn't buy a motorcycle that you can't pickup from the ground, and that that was why girls don't own big bikes. Another friend told me a was too light to own a fast sport bike, because you need a minimum weight to keep it stable on the ground. I used to weight a lot less back then, but still....
