Well I'm about 2000 miles into my 10K, 10 week, cross-country-and-back trip on
my '92 CB 750 (which started the trip at 72K miles). Definitely have seen a
performance and MPG drop with the weight of my saddlebags, tent, etc, but so far
she's holding up nicely.
Biggest issue is wind above 60mph -- if the wind blows the wrong way I get an
nearly immediate performance drop, as if she's suffocating. Someone told me
there's a forced-air add-on I could look into (basically a tube that pushes air
into the filter) -- has anyone used one of these?
I've got only a sketchwork of places to go on my trip with a couple key dates,
but other than that I'm pretty flexible. If any of you might be interested in
having me swing by and trade notes over dinner, or maybe have a yard I can tent
in, send me an email direct with what city you're in. It'd be cool to see some
of you face-to-face.
Thanks again to everyone on this list, it's been more helpful than I could
possibly ever describe!
Peace,
+Lie
