Hello All,
You might remember my whining about losing a headlight ring on the
GS-1000 two days ago - well I gotta say - I found a parts source.
Holmes Cycle Repair and Salvage yard. They don't have a website, but you can
get their info here: http://bit.ly/kdVCWl - They do mail order BTW - its
worth a shot if you're looking for something and can't find it.
Not only did they have the headlight ring, they had an entire
Vetter Windjammer fairing that was identical to mine (or extremely close) so
I grabbed a replacement headlight bucket as well, so I'm certain that the
ring and bucket are compatible.
$40 plus tax - walked in - walked out with parts - I'm happy. :-)
Haven't had a chance to install them yet, but its three bolts - cannot be
that hard. For the moment, the Gorilla tape is still holding the headlight
in - works great for now!
Forecast says an iffy weekend - should be able to find some time to
swap the assembly out.
Ride safe!
