I think the plug is to prevent air entering the air box through the tube rather than through the air filter. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

He pulled the plug off of the air box drain tube. Some really nasty brownish liquid came pouring out and is continuing to drip out - for about 12 hours. My question is what is why was their a plug on the tube in the first place? Do I need it?
