Cb is good because it is very standard (you can talk to almost every trucker on the road) but at the same time its draw back is that it is very standard... In the end its your choice, just make your choice based on your needs not popularity.... A cheeper alternitive to cb would be frs/gmrs radios.... To go the CB route, I use a Cobra 38WXST handheld radio mounted on the bars, coupled with an IMC headset and PPT button/cable, plus a rear mounted antenna (though you can use the "rubber ducky" antenna that comes on the handheld.)
