Definitely needs to have battery voltage over the black wire. A lot of the
GL owners just run new Red/White leads to the battery/starter solenoid, and
Greens to ground. Try running a new lead to the RR black connector directly
from the battery and see if it stops overcharging. I would seriously
consider just making a new harness for the RR from some heavy gauge wire,
and just solder it to the stator leads to minimize resistance.
