Guys, I've been lurking here since last fall, when I bought a black '82 750 Nighthawk, which was beyond my capability to mend. Unfortunately I snapped an exhaust stud when I was trying to remove the exhaust and couldn't justify the expense removing the head and pressing the stud out, given the bike's overall condition.
Which brings me to my blue '82 750: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir?uname=102090901747652637243&target=ALBUM&id=5641575363105605153&authkey=Gv1sRgCKi0m9CKvICn1AE&feat=email I bought this one last January and proceeded to swap the seat and battery from the black one. I also added a windsheild, replaced the grips and added bar end mirrors. Believe it or not, I was actually able to find a replacement right side cover for this bike from an online wrecker. I had been looking for one of these for 6 months before I found it. It felt like winning the lottery. I haven't seen one on ebay this year. I love this bike. It's light, nimble, requires little maintenance and always starts. True, it does smoke a bit when it's warming up, but it's equally true that it's 30 years old. Just thought I'd share. Peace.
