Here in New Zealand we have Warrant of Fitness tests (WOF), which Graham
will be familiar with.   My motorcycles are done every six months and they
check the headlights, tires, turn signals, horn and a lot of other stuff.   

Invariably, when I go to pick my bike up after a WOF, I find the kill switch
is on.  

It hasn't ever got me because my bikes are so reliable at starting right up
that, if they don't, it's the first thing I think of.   

But I always imagine the mechanics sitting inside listening to see if I'll
work it out or not. And if not, if I'll be in to whine that "My bike won't
start" which I think would give them all a good laugh.
