I'm quite sure I've lost it this time. Couple weeks ago I managed to
misplace my MP3 player - so I haven't been riding with any tunes or audio
books or the like. Got about a two hundred mile day planned and really
wanted some tunes. So I got inventive.
I have just come back upstairs from bunji cording a DVD player to my
handlebars.
Before you go 'WHAT!' - or maybe after - Its a portable job with a 7
inch screen and it plays MP3s from a disc. I loaded up a data DVD with a
little over a GB of music (including my entire Dropkick Murphy's collection,
you're welcome Kyle) and I've got the screen held in place by three small
bunji cords. I just took it for a quick spin around the block - I can hear
the music (although that varies greatly based upon the MP3s volume) and I
can work the controls easily enough. I plan to just let it play anyway. The
great advantage is that this setup allows me to forget the ear buds since it
has speakers. I'm taking them anyway since out on the Highway I bet its
going to be louder than the speakers can manage.
Add this to the GPS I've got covering my Tach and I think I've
finally gone off the deep end with my technological gadgetry....
Oh and a digital camera.
And that Electric cooler (although I won't use the electric part
owing to it sapping the batteries) on the luggage rack.
Yeah, I'm nuts.
