      OK,

Bought a very nice 1985 Nighthawk... yesterday. I drove 70 miles back

without any issues, runs like a kitten, battery remains charged (known

issue...)

Happy as a king

Used it yesterday afternoon to do a little tour, all is well...

Today, I want to use it... all light come on, starter starts, then all

goes off... Impossible to get anything on anymore.. Web browsing

(manuals are in the mail :-) ) found location of the 4 15 amps, all

good. Main 30a fuse seems ok...

What am I missing ?? I try the key juggle, verified all connections,

got 12.6v on the battery... there must be another fuse somewhere !

Help !!!!!!

Stef from NJ !

Is this a 650? If so check the wiring harness plugs in the back if the
fuse

block.

Not sure about your model but others have a fuse down by the starter
relay.

I had the same problem on my 82 honda nighthawk 450 s c . It was a rusted

fuse holder. Bought all new car style fuse holders and it has never happened

again. Check for bad fuseholder or connections to it.

Did the fuse look good or did it test good?

For us it was about a 350 mile day. Here are some pictures of the trip.

      I'm not near my bike... and it's a 650. But here's a picture I found from
when I brought it home for the first time (after years of sitting). You can see
the two throttle cables between the tank and triple tree.

Your results may vary...

Mr Corbin and the like don't seem to offer a replacement and more

cushy seat for my 250 Nighthawk. I know about Airhawk strap on

alternatives but wonder if others know of a total replacement seat

available on the market. Thanks, Michael C.

Can't say I blame her. Riding pillion is not something I enjoy

either. I've only done it once, when my bike broke down miles from

nowhere and a passing stranger gave me a lift to town.

I was back there braking, throttling and changing gears all the while,

cuz the guy's riding style drove me nutz.

Don't much care to have anyone up behind me either, unless she's

sweet, petite, likes to cuddle and doesn't talk much.

Solo's the way to go. Wanna spend time with your lady? Buy her a

bike, I say.

Then you got the issue of convincing her to go ride it. I know two people
who have done that and both now just have an extra bike because she won't ride
it. My wife has never been on a bike and has no desire to either.

There would definitely need to be some class time for Chelle before she

rides one solo. She's... not the most coordinated of folks, shall we say?

And can be inattentive. She likes them, but like I've said before she likes

the big ones.

Trying to convince her to take a class to see if it's something she wants to

pursue, but she's resisting that notion, albeit passively.
