You are getting the parts for rebuilding the clutch and stripped gears for
under $100 on ebay. Wow! Thats great to know. I too would try to get him down
even further, and they say the tires are new. How long has it been since they
were Installed? Mine looked new too until you looked real hard and then you
could see dry rot. My 84 650 was running and in great condition and I picked
that up for 1200. I may have overpaid a tad knowing now it needed tires and
clutch master and slave rebuilds, but I would not under estimate the value of
you time and labor for someone elses gain.

My 83 450 cost me $250 advertised at $300, Total cost is under $500
after a few small repairs. THANKS List! lol. For $5-800 I can get a
nice runner off craigslist. I suggest you keep looking. At most grind
him down another $3-400. A basket case 1983 motorcycle is scrap, and
my 450 would only get $50 across the scale. For him to part it out
requires time and space. I'm guessing something he doesn't have if
he's not fixing it himself. Cause if it's that nice it's worth $1k
fully functional.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people
to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of
