A set of after-market LED's adjacent to each side of the license plate. Look closely at the pic of the rear of the bike - there are 12 LEDs on each side of the license plate frame (they look like nubs):
http://www.lights.skenedesign.com/P3_Features.shtml It's an easy install, they provide all parts including connectors (according to your bike), but it's not cheap. In my research - California has this ordinance that specifies Blinking Rear Brake/Tail lights have to have a decreasing interval of flashes within some number of seconds, blah, blah - and they conform to that. My feeling is that properly installed, they do increase my visibility to others as driving lights and also as flashing brake lights. Checkout the website noted above. Yes, into clean installs - if you look closely at the picture of the gauges/handlebar you'll also see an analog clock/watch mounted on the center of my handlebars - also looks stock too (just above the center nut of the triple-tree)!
