Ok using the spread from the closest US gas station to me.
91 oct. $3.83/gal x 2.16gal = $ 8.27 / 102 miles ~ 47.2mpg ~
$0.081078 cost per mile.
87 oct. $3.63/gal x 2.83gal = $10.27 / 126 miles ~ 44.5mpg ~
$0.081507 cost per mile.
Saving 0.0429 cents per mile. Note the decimal. On a 125 mile/tank
equalized trip. You save 5.3625 cents per tank on premium.
Canada to Mexico down the I5, 1386 miles. For a savings of $0.59 .
Round trip you get a free coke ;o)
So the math says at least on your bike Prem is the same cost as reg,
so any extra benefits from the prem gas are free.
For giggles....
My cheap *Canadian* gas station;
91 oct. $4.936/gal x 2.16 = $10.66 / 102 miles ~ $0.1045 cost per mile
87 oct. $4.406/gal x 2.83 = $12.47 / 126 miles ~ $0.0989 cost per mile
Costing me an extra 0.56 cents per mile. to use prem. But my reg to
your prem costs me an extra 1.78 cents per mile. @ 125 mile tank =
$2.23 per tank.
<rant>
Think about that next time someone suggests you have high gas
prices. Oh and Mexico if done on Canadian gas, $24 extra. 2 free
tanks using US gas. And Canadian tourist traps wonder why Canadians
travel south instead of north/east/west. That's based on a 47mpg bike
not my 9mpg RV.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people
to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of
the roads weren't paved.
